We had some of the home cookin' at O'Neal's Kitchen today. I had the greens, fried okra, and chicken n' dumplings. My wife had the country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas. Everything was great! We were treated like family! We topped it off by splitting the home made strawberry cake!! If you are looking for a very clean restaurant, with friendly people, and good food...here is your place!!

The Whistle Stop is a 20 year dream in the making. We serve soul warming comfort foods with recipes straight out of the passed down family cookbooks. My mama taught each of her six children to cook good down home country dishes with lots of country seasoning and plenty of butter! My fondest wish is to share the yummy country goodness that she worked so hard to teach each of us. The measure of our success will not be in wealth or riches but in the number of people who return to our door seeking that little taste of down home in the South. Do come see us and sit a spell. We are sure you'll run into somebody you know!

The meat is superb! It's seasoned well and always cooked to perfection, the sides are all that hold this place back. For the price I paid I expected homemade food but all that was homemade was the meat. The potatoes are instant and the fried squash I had was frozen (which is fine for $6 but not $11). Overall a good meal though.
